Miner's Lamp
, the well known TB stallion by High Top had a prodigious career before becoming the stallion that sired Miner's Frolic!

As a flat racer he won 5 races and £ 31,052  including Oettingen-Renned, Gr.3, Rose of York handicap,  LR in record time.  Classically bred by High Top he was closely related to Champion Hurdle winner Lanzarotte and leading NH Sire Kambalda (sire of  Miinnehoma 1994 Grand National Winner and Barton Bank 1993 King George V1 Chase winner, Kempton).

As a sire of racehorses, Miner's Lamp sired 61 National Hunt and Flat winners, as well as numerous Irish Point-to-Point winners.

In a short career as a sport horse sire, Miner's Lamp sired CCI**** horse, Davy who earned 450 BE points and was long listed for Sydney Olympics 2000 (see picture on left). He also sired sired Lady Sphere (BSJA winner of £691) and  Sandby Jasmine, 2nd 2003 High Point Performance Awards,  IDHS (Irish Draught cross), as well as Haddon Hurricane, winner of the Small Riding Horse championship at the Horse of the Year Show in 2006.
His most famous progeny is of course Miner’s Frolic.

Miner's Lamp stood at Haddon Stud until 2002.

There is a limited amount of his frozen semen still available.
